Before applying for a Credit Union Student Choice Loan, be sure to follow these steps:

1. Fill out a FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) form found at fafsa.ed.gov.
2. Apply for scholarships—you may be eligible for many of them.
   • Check with your college financial aid office for listings.
   • Free information on preparing for and funding education beyond high school including a scholarship search wizard can be found at studentaid.ed.gov.
3. Take the maximum amount of Federal Stafford Loans before applying for Student Choice Loan. On subsidized loans while you’re in school:
